The Beginning: MirroCraft’s Roots (1956)
The story begins in 1956 with the Mirro Aluminum Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. At a time when aluminum was revolutionizing industries, Mirro saw an opportunity to bring that durability and versatility to recreational boating.
Under the name MirroCraft, the company introduced a line of aluminum fishing boats designed for reliability, simplicity, and performance.
These early boats quickly earned a reputation for:

A group of dedicated employees purchased the aluminum boat division from Mirro Aluminum and relocated operations to Gillett, Wisconsin—a move that kept production rooted in the heart of the Midwest.
The company was renamed Northport, Inc., but the MirroCraft name remained—because by then, it meant something.

In 2003, ownership transitioned again when the owners of Weeres Pontoons in St. Cloud, Minnesota acquired the company.

- Manufacturing remained in Gillett, WI

In 2012, the company came full circle.
The existing management team—those closest to the product, the process, and the customers—purchased the company and formed Northport Marine, LLC.

At the annual dealer meeting in September 2012, Northport Marine introduced a brand-new line: Montego Bay Pontoons.
